Job Description Summary
Wentworth Institute of Technology is seeking applicants interested in joining the Wentworth community as a The Academic Assistant in the School of Computing and Data Science.

Reporting to the Dean, the Assistant collaborates with team members in the School leadership on customer service-oriented projects other activities as necessary. The Academic Assistant:
Serves as the front-line point of contact for the School of Computing and Data Science, managing customer service requests from students, faculty, and staff members within the school and across the University;
Works with the Dean’s Office team to support School initiatives and collaborate on teams with colleagues from the Registrar’s Office, Success Studio, and Academic Affairs to provide integrated communications and to support all areas of the university in student retention for the School of Computing and Data Science;
Works closely with School faculty to provide resources and support.

The School of Computing and Data Science serves approximately 900 students in four undergraduate computing and data science programs: Computer Science, Computer Networking, Cybersecurity and Applied Mathematics. The School also offers three master’s degree programs in Applied Computer science, Data Science, and Business Analytics.

Minimum Education Required Bachelor's degree
Preferred Education Master's degree
Minimum Work Experience Required 1-3 years
Preferred Work Experience 3-5 years
Minimum Knowledge Required Working knowledge of fundamental concepts, practices and procedures and ability to apply in varied situations. Uses instructions and guidelines to perform the job safety function. Periodic training will be required.
Preferred Knowledge Working knowledge of concepts, practices and procedures and ability to use in varied situations.

Professional judgment and discretion when handling high-level matters
Demonstrated ability to communicate effective in interpersonal settings
Excellent written communication skills and strong proofreading ability
Quick to adapt to new technologies and procedures
Excellent organizational and time-management skills, ability to switch gears quickly and handle many interruptions
Knowledge of FERPA laws surrounding student privacy
Ability to prioritize and work independently, exercising good judgment and meeting deadlines with minimal oversight
Experience with advising software, such as EAB Navigate or similar
Experience with Banner and BannerWeb or similar tools
Experience with Argos or similar reporting tools
Experience working with data and knowledge of data analysis and reporting best practices
Demonstrated proficiency in two or more languages
