Job Description


This position will assist post-doctoral candidates and/or senior lab members by performing experiments, collecting/analyzing data, and summarizing experimental results. These experiments may range from behavioral studies to imaging to using bioinformatic tools.  This position will allow for manuscript editing/writing/collaboration. 


Specific tasks/responsibilities include experimental design and execution. These experiments are unique to the research technician and his/her work with the senior lab member but may fluctuate in type/scope depending on the person the technician will be assisting for that time period.

Job Duties

  • Prepares and conducts laboratory research experiments.
  • Collects, compiles and analyzes data
  • Conducts literature searches and summarizes information in an appropriate format for a particular study.
  • Documents results of experiments.
  • Selects, evaluates and applies techniques used in routine research.
  • Orders laboratory supplies and equipment.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a Basic Science or related field. Four years of related experience may substitute for degree requirement.
  • One year of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in a related field.
