Job Description

Summary

Part-time position working approximately 20 hours per week.  

 

This position will work on neuropsychiatric disorders research. Involves research work that requires the use of skills, technical and academic knowledge to analyze the mechanisms of developmental neurological disorders and develop treatment avenues. The candidate will isolate DNA from blood and saliva and purify for next generation sequencing. The candidate will also perform molecular studies in the lab including polymerase chain reaction (PCR), protein isolation and Western blotting.

Job Duties

• Prepares and conducts laboratory research experiments.
• Collects, compiles and analyzes data.
• Documents results of experiments.
• Enters data into research database.
• Selects, evaluates and applies techniques used in routine research.
• Cleans equipment and work area.
 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a Basic Science or related field. Four years of related experience may substitute for degree requirement.
  • No experience required.
