Job Description

Summary

The BCM Neurology seeks to hire a research technician/data analyst to assist our laboratories' projects on epilepsy and ADHD studies. The main responsibilities of the candidate would be to implant mice with intracranial electrodes and analyze behavioral data obtained from mouse models of epilepsy and ADHD.

Job Purpose

Performs the routine elements of research work that requires the use of skills, technical and academic knowledge to follow established procedures and record results.

Job Duties

  • Manages mouse colonies: - genotyping mice - breeding mice - weaning mice.
  • Surgically implant mice: - implalnt electrodes over mouse brain - care for mice pre- and post-surgically.
  • Performs analysis on mouse behavioral experiments - use MATLAB to generate data from behavioral experiments - use GraphPad Prism to analyze data.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a Basic Science or related field. Four years of related experience may substitute for degree requirement.
