Job Description

Summary

The Department of Medicine, Section of Gastroenterology and Hepatology, is looking to hire a reliable and dedicated Research Coordinator II to work on clinical trials and manage the recruitment operations of research projects for Dr. Hemant Roy. The ideal candidate will manage enrollment in multiple NIH trials and non-sponsored studies, interview patients for eligibility in various studies, collect patient information, and manage IRB protocols. The candidate will work alongside a team in Dr. Roy's lab to additionally help initiate new IRB protocols and manage various ongoing clinical trials plus initiate new trials.

Job Duties

  • Screens, enrolls, and monitors research subjects.
  • Maintains and initiates IRB protocols.
  • Participates in the management of various aspects of clinical trials involving human subjects.  
  • Works with other members of the study team - nurses, physicians, lab personnel and regulatory support.
  • Performs accurate data collection and data entry in an electronic database.
  • Responds to data queries. 
  • Works on several studies.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field. Four years of related experience may substitute for degree requirement.
  • One year of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree preferred but not required
  • Prior research experience, clinical trials, etc. 
  • Ability to multi-task is critical to this role.
  • Must be experienced with computer files and Excel spreadsheets.
  • Will also provide on-the-job training.
  • Organized, self-motivated, teamwork, works well under pressure, multitasking.
