Job Description

Summary

The Research Coordinator II will conduct and coordinate day-to-day activities of research protocols which include screening, recruiting and monitoring of research participants. Will ensure accurate data collection, documentation, organization and safety of research participants.  The Research Coordinator II will work on several projects focused on food-related disparities in low-income communities. These projects utilize mixed-methods research that involves quantitative (surveys and/or food recalls) as well as qualitative (interviews and/or focus groups) data collection.

Job Duties

  • Interviews, screen and recruits participants for study; explains process and procedures to educate participant regarding the research study.
  • Collects participant information; processes documents and enters information into a database.
  • Assists in developing study materials including surveys, handouts, interview/focus group scripts and data collection tools.
  • Maintains records and documents for research studies.
  • Schedules research participant for data collection.
  • Designs computer-based survey for online data collection.
  • Conducts survey data collection with research participants.
  • Conducts interviews and focus groups, in both Spanish and English.
  • Serves as point-of-contact for Spanish-only speaking research participants.
  • Maintains confidential records of collected data, ensures accuracy and integrity of data.
  • Assists in coding and analysis of qualitative data.
  • Transcribes qualitative data using transcribing software.
  • Serves as liaison for questions or issues between participating study sites and research team.
  • May assist in the preparation and writing of research reports, manuscripts, papers and grant proposals for presentation and publication.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field. Four years of related experience may substitute for degree requirement.
  • One year of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish)
  • One year of relevant experience in the areas of nutrition and public health
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Working knowledge of MS Office
  • Interviewing skills to conduct individual interviews and focus groups
  • Coding and analysis of qualitative data from interviews/focus groups
