Tenure Track Full-Time Assistant Professor
Occupational Therapy Program

The Occupational Therapy Doctorate (OTD) Program in the School of Health Sciences, College of Sciences and Health Professions at Cleveland State University is seeking to fill a nine-month, tenure-track Assistant Professor position to begin August 16, 2021. CSU has offered an OT Program since 1974 and has obtained Candidacy Status from the Accreditation Council of Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE) for a new (Fall 2020), Occupational Therapy Doctorate (OTD) Program. We seek to attract an active, culturally and academically diverse faculty of the highest caliber. Primary duties include teaching courses within the OTD Program; conducting research, providing service to the Program, School, College, University, and the community; supervising research projects and doctoral capstones; mentoring/advising students; and involvement in ongoing curriculum development/evaluation.

Minimum Qualifications
An occupational therapist with strong communication skills, currently licensed or eligible for licensure in the State of Ohio with a minimum of three years of professional experience in occupational therapy. Candidates must have a degree in Occupational Therapy and an earned research doctorate in occupational therapy or related field from a USDE-recognized regionally accredited university, or a documented plan for degree completion by July 1, 2021. Evidence of potential for teaching, with the ability to teach core courses in the OTD Program in any of following content areas: administration and management, research, service learning, adult acute care or rehabilitation, assistive technologies, functional cognitive rehabilitation, and/or population health. Evidence of potential to contribute to the diversity and mission of an urban serving university.

Preferred Qualifications
An earned research doctorate at time of application. A record of research commensurate with appointment as an Assistant Professor; a record of excellence in teaching in higher education in occupational therapy; strong interpersonal skills; a record of excellence in service. A record of serving diverse students and/or contributing to the diversity and mission of an urban serving university.
