Job DescriptionPosition Summary:
As a member of the highly collaborative Academic Web Technologies Support team and under the close supervision of the Instructional Technology Support Manager, the Technology Support Specialist will support a dynamic and diverse instructional community by providing responsive, professional, and high-quality front-line end-user support for faculty, staff, and student users of enterprise learning management systems and integrated campus and third-party services. Independently manage the triage and resolution of support requests, including escalation and follow-up through to resolution with third party vendors for supported services. Contribute to the work of the neighboring Academic Web Technologies Development team by using support interactions to identify emerging needs, trends, and opportunities to better serve campus faculty, staff, and students.
0-1 year of experience, with a BA/BS degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience providing frontline technology support for a large and diverse user community.
Experience working effectively in a team-based support environment, assisting with investigation, triage, and referrals.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Ability to work in a remote context using videoconferencing, email, and instant messaging applications to communicate with coworkers.
Ability to set and meet deadlines and maintain appropriate communication with manager and project stakeholders.
Valid California Driver’s license.
Familiarity with learning management systems (such as Canvas, Moodle, Blackboard).
Experience managing referrals and troubleshooting in a support context.
Experience working in a collaborative, Agile development environment.
Experience working within a university or higher education environment.
Must possess a valid California Driver's License and participate in the DMV Pull Notice Program.
