The Department of Anesthesiology is currently seeking a data analyst who will assist with the implementation of clinical research for several ongoing studies by leading the management and analysis of data.

Develop and implement effective data management procedures, design and create datasets for each study, clean large volumes of cross sectional and longitudinal data, and merge data from a variety of sources and formats.
Provide suggestions on adapting alternative methodologies in an effort to improve clinical data collection and management.
Work with the research team to assist in the development of analytical and statistical approaches needed to answer specific research questions.
Determine the statistical tests/models to be used. Carry out statistical analyses and evaluate results.
Provide statistical support and training to research staff as needed.
Assist in the preparation of abstracts, manuscripts, and/or grant proposals.
Masters and 5-6 years of data management and/or analysis experience required. Must be capable of a high level of independent work and have the ability to manage data for large research projects. Must have expertise and demonstrated ability to conduct general linear models including multivariable regression, logistic regression, multi-level/hierarchical modeling; mixed-effects models; missing data techniques; non-parametric statistics; data transformation; variable selection (LASSO; elastic net).
Advanced statistical training and expertise, including proficiency with SPSS, Stata, SAS, R, and/or MPlus. Demonstrated aptitude for learning new statistical and/or data management software. Excellent interpersonal skills. Proven ability to work collaboratively with a team and meet deadlines in a multi-tasking environment. Experience in technical and research writing required.
