A postdoctoral position is immediately available in the Department of Neurosciences at the Cleveland Clinic Lerner Research Institute to investigate the potential therapeutic interventions to promote the nerve regeneration and the functional (motor, sensory and autonomic) recovery after spinal cord injury or traumatic brain injury. The mechanisms (neuroprotection, inhibitory extracellular matrix molecules, neuroplasticity, etc) underlying these effects are also the topics of our studies. These studies are supported by funds from NIH R01, Department of Defense, and Foundations. This position offers an excellent work environment with competitive salary and benefits.
We are seeking a highly motivated, independent, flexible, and interactive researcher to work with. Applicants with a strong background in neuroanatomy, neurophysiology, and neurobiology are encouraged to apply. Significant experience in molecular biology/cellular biology skills (western blot, PCR, cell culture etc.) is highly desired in addition to demonstrated electrophysiological expertise and/or experience in data analysis software (MATLAB, photoshop). Good English communication skills and a Ph.D. or M.D. degree in a relevant discipline are required.
