Position Highlights The Office of Instruction and Assessment (OIA) seeks an Instructional Applications Support Specialist. This individual will consult with instructors, staff, and students using instructional applications adopted by the University of Arizona. This includes the D2L course management system and its integrations, such as Panopto, Zoom, Turnitin.com and Turning Technologies Audience Response System (Clickers).

Duties & Responsibilities
Support the UA’s instructional applications including the course management system, D2L, the lecture capture system, Panopto, the online learning and collaboration platform, Zoom, the plagiarism reduction application, Turnitin.com, and their mobile components
Train/support/orient UA faculty and staff on these instructional applications through email, phone, Zoom consultations, and workshops
Consult with faculty and TAs on appropriate use of technology in instruction, including instructional design principles
Test functions of specific tools and help develop workarounds within the above instructional applications
Refer clients to other university resources as appropriate
Assist in the development of the instructional applications help pages and related resources
Attend staff meetings, contribute to planning and reporting efforts, and respond to administrative requests and procedures
Provide input regarding the implementation and support of tools, documentation, and materials that promote and support online learning
Provide occasional weekend support during semester start up and other team tasks as assigned
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Knowledge of basic instructional design principles and constructs
Excellent customer / client relations
Ability to write instructions, help pages, descriptions, and announcements that are clear but succinct
Basic knowledge of HTML and CSS
Minimum Qualifications
Master’s degree and at least 3 years of relevant work experience
Experience working with the Desire2Learn (D2L) course management system or similar Course Management system such as Moodle, Blackboard or Canvas
Experience developing and testing solutions to complex problems
Preferred Qualifications
Experience providing instructional support in higher education
Experience working on a team
Experience working with screencasting and or lecture capture software
such as Camtasia, Snagit, Panopto Lecture Capture and Jing
Experience working with web conferencing tools such as Zoom, Blackboard
Collaborate and GoToMeeting
