Job DescriptionA postdoctoral research associate position is available in Prof. Baoxing Xu’s group in the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at the University of Virginia.
The successful candidate will work on a project on atomistic modeling and simulations of nanomechanics and thermal transport of materials and functional structures and their coupling with applications in the design and manufacturing of electronic devices and structures, and will also be asked to write reports and technical papers.
QUALIFCATION REQUIRMENTS: A Ph.D. degree in engineering, including but not limited to, mechanical engineering, engineering mechanics, materials science, and thermal science is required by the start date. Candidates must also have a strong background in atomistic simulations and modeling. Experience in data science and machine learning is a plus. Good writing and communication skills are required.
