The Adjunct Faculty, Lecturer of Physics is responsible for teaching lecture and/or laboratory sections of 100-level physics courses, such as PHYS 100 Concepts of Physics, PHYS 101 Elementary Astronomy, PHYS 111/112 General Physics, PHYS 111L/112L General Physics Lab, PHYS 131 Fundamental Mechanics, PHYS 131L Fundamental Mechanics Lab, PHYS 132 Electromagnetism and Optics, PHYS 132L Electromagnetism and Optics Lab. The Adjunct Faculty, Lecturer of Physics will use course materials provided by CMU. Alternate materials may be used with the approval of the department head.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.
Teach lecture and/or laboratory sections of 100-level physics courses.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
REQUIRED EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
At least 18 credit hours of graduate coursework in physics or a related field.
Effective communication skills.
DESIRED EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
An MS or PhD is preferred, with the degree being in physics or a related field.
Teaching experience is desirable.
