Postdoctoral positions are available in Dr. Fenghua Hu's laboratory at Cornell University for highly motivated candidates who are interested in molecular and cellular mechanisms involved in neurodegeneration, particularly amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) and frontotemporal lobar degeneration (FTLD). Candidates with prior experiences in cell biology, immunology or neuroscience are encouraged to apply. Potential projects may involve (1) Function of progranulin and granulin peptides in the lysosome, extracellular signaling and inflammatory responses; (2) Lysosome function of TMEM106B related to neurodegeneration and myelination; (3) The role of the C9orf72/SMCR8/WDR41 complex in inflammation and membrane trafficking.
Successful candidates will have a recent Ph.D. in cell biology, immunology or neuroscience. Prior research experience in membrane trafficking and lysosome biology will be a plus.
