Job Description

The University of Miami Miller School of Medicine's Department of Medicine - Hematology has an opportunity for a Post-Doctoral Associate. This position will be involved in major responsibility on aspects of research projects in any one of a number of disciplines, including but not limited to, cellular and molecular biology, biochemistry, oncology and immunology along with animal handling. The Post-Doctoral Associate will perform complex laboratory assignments, solve problems in scientific and technical execution while interpreting experimental data and maintaining accurate records, assist in the preparation of data and figures for manuscripts and scientific presentations using PowerPoint, iDraw and other software, search literature for references to technical problems, present data in laboratory meetings and ensure and document laboratory adherence to safety standards.

The minimum qualifications for this position are as follows: Ph.D., M.D./Ph.D. or M.D. in Microbiology and Immunology, Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, Oncology or a closely related field of study. Experience using Microsoft PowerPoint, Prism GraphPad, iDraw and/or other data analysis/graphics software. Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, to include fluency in the English language. Ability to exercise considerable latitude for independent judgment and perform non-routine and complex laboratory duties requiring advanced technical skill. Any relevant education, certifications and/or work experience may be considered.
