What You Will Achieve

The Sr. Manager, Equipment and Component Preparation will manage the Pfizer Rocky Mount Aseptic and Terminally Sterilized area prep teams. The incumbent will ensure that manufacturing methods / environment will meet contemporary industrial, Regulatory and Pfizer standards. The Leader will work with its department leaders to ensure that departments are properly staffed.  The Lead will be expected to improve cost efficiency and effectiveness and deliver production units based on the schedule.  The position will be responsible to interact with the sites quality assurance, quality control, validation, engineering, technology services, supply chain, project engineering and regulatory departments in order ensure that regulatory standards, company policies and site processes are met.  The Lead will cultivate and reinforce appropriate Pfizer values and behaviors, diversity and inclusion and will provide oversight to individuals and teams on professional development, performance, and quality related issues.  The Sr. Manager Equipment and Component Preparation will report directly to the Director of Rocky Mount Prep Operations. 

How You Will Achieve It

  • Direct oversight of the site equipment and commodity preparation operations 

  • ​​Ensures a safe manufacturing environment is in place. 

  • Ensure that the manufacturing departments are cGMP compliant. 

  • Ensure that the departments are staffed to meet production operation requirements. 

  • Creates/monitors and controls department’s budgets. Monitors, reports and adjusts accordingly to production variance reports. 

  • Maintains robust collaborations/communication with the other Operations Leads for Aseptic Filling, Terminally Sterilized Filling and Formulation to ensure optimum product flow and share mutual accountability for 100% customer service. 

  • Collaborate with Compliance Operations team to ensure robust event initiation and CAPAs. 

  • Responsible for continuous improvement including operational systems, processes, and policies. 

  • Implement and maintain integrated manufacturing excellence (IMEx) lean manufacturing system

  • Incorporate Operational Excellence elements into the organization through visual management, production performance and metrics, six sigma and lean principles

  • Ensures that all manufacturing methods and practices are consistent with industry and Pfizer standards. 

  • Engages with the sites quality assurance, quality control, validation, engineering, technology services, supply chain and regulatory departments to ensure the sites manufacturing needs, regulatory standards and company policies are met. 

  • Ensures that colleague training programs are suitable and effective to support cGMP requirements.

  • Timely escalation of any quality, human resource, environmental, safety and manufacturing issues. 

  • Must have the ability to simultaneously multi-task across multiple capabilities and functions and handle multiple competing priorities and requirements, including performing site and functional responsibilities. 

Qualifications

Must-Have

  • Bachelor's Degree

  • 7+ years of experience

  • Relevant pharmaceutical industry experience

  • Demonstrated experience as a manager of team members

  • Strong people management experience

  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills

  • Candidate demonstrates a breadth of diverse leadership experiences and capabilities including: the ability to influence and collaborate with peers, develop and coach others, oversee and guide the work of other colleagues to achieve meaningful outcomes and create business impact.
     

Nice-to-Have

  • Master's degree

Physical/Mental Requirements

  • Be able to stand and walk for long periods of time. 

  • Must be able to wear captive gowning 

Non-Standard Work Schedule, Travel or Environment Requirements

  • Must be able to support and manage a 24/7 Operation 

  • Must be able to occasionally work across the different shifts on a determined frequency

  • Occasional travel may be required
