ROLE SUMMARY

The Rare Disease Global Market team are currently seeking a Director, Rare Disease Future Growth to support us in delivering best-in-class solutions to address challenges existing along our Rare Disease patient journeys.

The Pfizer Rare Disease portfolio consists of a range of treatments for patients with a variety of rare diseases, including transthyretin amyloid cardiomyopathy (ATTR-CM), sickle cell disease & rare endocrine disorders. A variety of challenges & obstacles exist along each of these patient journeys.

The Director, Rare Disease Future Growth will be leading a cross-functional team to find & implement novel solutions to unlock these blockages, with the potential to bring significant benefit to underserved patient groups.

The Director,  Rare Disease Future Growth, is a role with global scope that will:

  • Work hand-in-hand with RD Global Brand Teams to identify the key blockages in the patient journey that require novel solutions to solve them
  • Lead the cross-functional team to ideate “Big Bet” ideas that could unblock the patient journey and scanning the external environment for start-ups, technology-based or otherwise, that offer suitable solutions
  • Lead the team to build out the chosen solutions and get them to market
  • Develop a clear Go-To-Market (GTM) / roll out plan for the chosen solutions to ensure rapid uptake and significant patient benefit

This role is unique and requires an experienced colleague with a history of understanding patient journeys and delivering bold activities that break the mold, either technology-based or otherwise. While this role does not have direct reports, it will lead broad global cross-functional teams and will require a proven ability to lead through uncertainty.

This position will report to the Global Rare Disease AI & Future Growth Lead.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

Director, Rare Disease Future Growth

  • Partner with Global Brand Teams to identify and agree upon key blockages in the patient journey to focus on
  • Lead cross-functional ideation to identify potential solutions that could make a significant benefit to patients
  •  Scan the environment for suitable external solutions, lead partnership discussions with them and secure internal funding (inline with all compliance and legal guidelines)
  • Lead the cross-functional team in developing the chosen solutions, shepherding them through all necessary internal processes
  • Work closely with Country Teams to identify how to best drive global uptake, create GTM strategy & roll out clear country launch plans
  • Work closely with countries to assist with their launches of developed tool & drive best practice sharing across countries
  • Measure impact of launched solutions and drive organizational learning
  • Collaborate closely with Global Marketing Office & relevant Digital teams to share learnings and seek opportunities for collaboration
  • Ensure GLOCAL framework and forums are consistently applied for chosen activities
  • Manage budget and performance of creative agencies & associated partners that are commissioned to work on the projects
  • Function as a leader on the Rare Disease Global Marketing team and represent Vyndaqel on pan-Pfizer, enterprise initiatives
  • Collaborate closely with cross functional team members including Medical, Legal, Customer Insights and Analytics, PHI, Health and Economic Outcomes Research, Corporate Affairs, Communications

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree required. Advance degree preferred
  • 10 years healthcare industry experience
  • Proven track record in leading innovative, non-conventional projects successfully
  • In-country or above country marketing experience, with evidence of having used patient insight to drive strategies & tactics
  • Prior experience in working with start-ups, or leading external technology collaborations a plus, but not required
  • Understanding of the software as medical device (SaMD) regulations in the EU and US is a plus, but not required
  • Prior experience in Rare Disease is a plus, but not required
  • Demonstrated ability to think “outside of the box” and to challenge conventional ways of doing things
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams and gainbuy-in to new ideas / projects
  • Hands-on experience leading communication platforms, managing agencies and/or other related projects.
  • Experience interfacing/collaborating with Regulatory, Medical, Legal and other functions.
  • Candidate demonstrates a breadth of diverse leadership experiences and capabilities including: the ability to influence and collaborate with peers, develop and coach others, oversee and guide the work of other colleagues to achieve meaningful outcomes and create business impact.
  • Drive voice of customer insights
  • Experience in creating tailored ways of engaging with external stakeholders  
  • Ability to move fast in response to what is happening in the external marketplace
  • Has deep analytics fluency, continuously monitors insights, and has a test-and-learn, iterative mindset

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $156,900.00 to $261,500.00. In addition, this position offers an annual bonus with a target of 20.0% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program. Benefits offered include a retirement savings plan, paid vacation, holiday and personal days, paid caregiver/parental and medical leave, and health benefits to include medical, prescription drug, dental and vision coverage in accordance with the terms and conditions of the applicable plans. Salary range does not apply to the Tampa, FL location.

Relocation assistance may be available based on business needs and/or eligibility.
