Summary

Provides oversight and support for the administrative and financial operations, as well as the research, community engagement, and field activities of the Maternal and Infant Environmental Health Riskscape (MIEHR) Research Center, a multi-institutional P50 Center of Excellence on Environmental Health Disparities Research. Provide input into strategic planning and resource allocation decisions for the Program in Population and Environmental Health Disparities (E. Symanski, Director).

The NIH P50 Center of Excellence in Environmental Health Disparities Research is a large and comprehensive research center which requires a multifaceted approach to manage resources and stakeholder relationships, including interfacing with other BCM Centers, including the NIEHS P30 Environmental Health Sciences Core Center, NIEHS P42 Superfund Research Program Center, HRSA Center of Excellence in Health Equity, Training and Research, as well as TSU's Bullard Center for Environmental and Climate Justice and Center for Justice Research.

 

This is an onsite role with the potential for hybrid work schedule.

Job Duties

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of MIEHR Center activities and integration of Research Projects and Cores
  • Provide day-to-day oversight of field activities related to subject recruitment, biospecimen collection and subject renumeration
  • Participate in pre- and/or post-award grant management activities
  • Serve as a liaison between MIEHR Center leadership and program staff at funding agencies, other Environmental Health Disparities Centers, MIEHR Project and Core leads and Co-leads and research staff
  • Maintain electronic systems for tracking MIEHR Center progress and milestones (projects and cores) and assists with the development of evaluative metrics for Center success, including those related to equity, diversity and inclusion
  • Maintain Center’s Web site and coordinates outreach and communications to internal and external stakeholders
  • Assist with the administration of the Center’s Pilot Project Program supported within the Investigator Development Core
  • Assist in the writing and submission of progress reports, including the annual progress report to the funding agencies, lay summaries and research publications
  • Provide input into strategic planning and resource allocation decisions for the Program in Population and Environmental Health Disparities (E. Symanski, Director) as well as for the Center for Precision Environmental Health, the Section of Epidemiology and Population Sciences, Department of Medicine and the Institute of Clinical and Translational Medicine

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field. 
  • Four years of relevant experience.
