About the Department
The School of Information Technology is a national leader in studying solutions and needs that connect people, information, and the technology of the time. The SoIT is home to Ohio's first Master of Science, and Doctor of Philosophy degrees in Information Technology. In addition, it is home to Ohio's first ABET accredited Bachelor of Science in Information Technology and a Bachelor of Science in Cybersecurity. The SoIT has been growing at 18% annually and currently serves more than 1,700 students with 29 full-time faculty members, 20 full-time staff, and 32 part-time faculty. The SoIT is home to several centers including an NSA/DHS Center for Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense, the Information Technology Solutions Center, the Ohio Cyber Range Institute, Applied Machine Learning and Intelligence Center, and the Civic Technology Center.

Job Overview
The School of Information Technology (SoIT) at the University of Cincinnati is rapidly growing its faculty in cybersecurity, infrastructure, and applied data science. SoIT seeks to hire three tenure-track Assistant Professors advancing research in the practical, applied, and technical dimensions of securing systems and information, championing technological innovation, as well as engaging in new evidence-based approaches in IT industry with interdisciplinary collaborations.

An Assistant Professor at the University of Cincinnati is expected to start in August 2023 and will teach, conduct research, scholarly and service activities. This position will support the University of Cincinnati’s mission and commitment to excellence and diversity in our students, faculty, staff, and all of our activities. Essential Functions
Attend meetings, participate in governance, prepare materials for teaching.
Evaluate and develop curriculum for department and/or college.
Conduct and teach assigned undergraduate and/or graduate-level courses and seminars.
Serve as an academic adviser for students and evaluate student coursework.
Serve on college or university committees and participate in curriculum development activities.
Serve on graduate committees, supervise and seek funding to support research laboratories (where appropriate),
Independent study activities, and off-campus learning.
Review, and where necessary, respond in a timely manner to all University-related communications.
Required Education
An earned Ph.D. in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline is required prior to the effective date of appointment (ABD candidates will be considered).
Required Experience
At least one term of teaching experience, in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline at the undergraduate or graduate level, which could have been as a teaching assistant, adjunct, or full-time faculty.
Two peer-reviewed publications or one acquired grant as a Co-PI or PI in areas related to information technology is required.
Engagement in at least one activity that provides service to their academic unit, College, University or the community.
