POSITION TITLE:                         Phlebotomist

 

STATUS:                                       Full Time (RF Status - 80 Hours/Pay Period)

 

DAY/SHIFT/HOURS:                    Variable Work Days, 4am-12:30pm/4:30am-1pm,                                                                                       Other shifts as needed, Weekend & Holiday rotation

As a Phlebotomist at Union Hospital, you will be assisting with obtaining, preparing, and processing specimens that will be analyzed within our clinical laboratories. Your duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Performing IP, OP, and ER phlebotomy.
  • Collecting and processing urine drug screens.
  • Performing finger stick glucose tests.
  • Entering orders and having the occasional courier duty.
  • Performs all specimen processing duties including checking and preparing send-out tests to be sent to LabCorp and CCF Main campus.

Requirements:

  • High School Graduate or Equivalent.
  • Completion of phlebotomy course required.
  • 1-3 years of phlebotomy experience preferred.
  • Medical terminology knowledge required.
  • ICD-9 Coding knowledge helpful.
  • Good typing skills with PC data entry knowledge.
  • Valid State of Ohio Driver’s License; may require the use of personal vehicle when completing courier job and lab vehicle in unavailable.
