Job Description

Position Highlights:

  • The Managed Care & Payer Relations Coordinator supports Moffitt Cancer Center's managed care contracting initiatives and related Payer Strategies operations. The Coordinator assists the Managed Care department in the administration and coordination of payer contract analysis, compliance, and relation activities in support of the organization’s managed care strategy, business and financial plans. The position will serve as a resource for policy research and education, issue resolution with payers and internal customers, Letter of Agreement coordination/negotiation, and process improvement. The position will have direct involvement with the development and implementation of departmental processes and Policies and Procedures for efficient day to day payer contracting support. The Coordinator may perform other duties as needed or assigned.

 

The Ideal Candidate

  • Previous experience with Cerner Soarian Financials software

 

Responsibilities:

  • Execute Policy Research and Coordination
  • Manage and Facilitate Payer Issue Resolution
  • Represent Managed Care in a liaison and educational capacity both internally and externally.
  • Letter of Agreement Contracting
  • Assist in Process Improvement efforts

 

Credentials and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum 3-5 years’ experience managing contracts within the health care industry working on either the health plan or provider side.
  • Ability to process and understand complex information related to working in a managed care and revenue cycle environment.
  • Must have excellent communication skills both verbally and through written communication.
  • Must be able to work independently using critical thinking skills/organizational and administrative skills, with particular attention to detail regarding written documents.
  • Must demonstrate professional judgment in work assigned, individual initiative, research, problem solving, and the ability to multi-task.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced, high stress environment.
  • Proficient in use of Microsoft Office Suite, with emphasis on Excel, PowerPoint and One Note.
  • Strong familiarity with managed care terminology, and knowledge of physician/hospital reimbursement methodologies.

 

Preferred:

  • Master’s degree 
  • Previous experience with Cerner Soarian Financials software
