Business Operations Manager, Strategy & Consulting
SUMMARY
Reporting to the Director of Business Operations & Consulting Services, this manages the day-to-day operations of the Strategy & Consulting team, an in-house team of ~65 management consultants within the Business Innovation division. Key accountabilities include the management of recruiting, onboarding, training, consultant staffing assignments, feedback collection, data management and reporting, programming development, and budget processes for the department.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Facilitates recruiting interview decisions and manages all logistics with the S&C Leadership Team for S&C evergreen job postings. Acts as main point of contact for Pfizer’s University Recruiting lead in managing all S&C internship logistics. Participates in recruiting programming forums and makes recruiting recommendations for junior level resources.
• Owns Strategy & Consulting’s new colleague onboarding process, end-to-end, delegating certain tasks to members of the S&C administrative team as appropriate to ensure a seamless colleague experience.
• Maintains all consulting staffing assignments in system of record (Catalant). Trains all Senior Managers and Director level Strategy & Consulting colleagues on system usage. Recommends optimal staffing of Strategy & Consulting colleagues on Biopharma, Corporate and R&D projects by balancing across business needs, colleague development needs and timing/capacity considerations and constraints.
• Participates in the development of a robust and differentiated training program, aligned to the five core skills and capabilities all Strategy & Consulting colleagues require to succeed in their roles. Maintain relationships with key external training vendors. Monitor and track effectiveness of all training solutions. • Plans, manages, and executes the full calendar of programming opportunities for all Strategy & Consulting colleagues, including but not limited to Sharing Session, internal and external Business Guest Sessions, multi-day All Hands Meetings, Leadership Team Offsites, and team socials, etc.
• Manages internal data and reporting processes for the Strategy & Consulting team; updates Purpose Blueprint portal for ELT and Big Idea leads audiences, maintain S&C project rosters and project feedback forms for junior resources, tracks and creates S&C ROI data reports
• Manages department budget processes and tracks project spend, seat-based licenses, vendor SOWs and invoices, etc.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor’s degree (related field preferred)
• 3-5 years of relevant work experience (knowledge of pharma industry and ops experience preferred)
• Strong project, time-management and organizational skills – applies only the necessary amount of process to ensure alignment, while keeping things appropriately simple. Able to manage and juggle multiple projects and pieces of work with various deadlines while prioritizing independently
• Highly proficient with computers and technologies: Microsoft Outlook, the Microsoft Office Suite, and document sharing sites such as One Drive and Teams. Familiar with and able to use Pfizer internal systems such as PT&E, Ariba, etc.
• Experience modeling and manipulating data in Excel, experience presenting data with compelling PPT visuals and managing financials
• Excellent communication skills – written and verbal, able to tailor for various audience types
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work at all levels of the organization
• Demonstrated ability to exercise good judgment and discretion; trustworthiness in dealing with confidential or sensitive information
