Job Description
Summary
The position is for a technician to provide responsible assistance for establishment and propagation of organoid cultures as part of the Baylor College of Medicine 3D Organoid Core. Technician who will be able to handle multiple projects and can follow instructions to complete assignments under minimal supervision. The applicant be responsible, skilled and dedicated. The research position will offer a unique and rewarding translational research experience in a dynamic and highly productive environment.
Job Duties
- Generates and propagates 3D organoid cultures.
- Performs routine research assays such as flow cytometry and qRT-PCR to validate cultures.
- Documents results.
- Contributes to core maintenance that includes ordering supplies, general clean up, freezer cataloging, and maintaining lab equipment.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a Basic Science or related field. Four years of related experience may substitute for degree requirement.
- No experience required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Two years of research experience.
- Experience in an academic research lab is desirable.
- Tissue culture expertise and experience with sterile technique is essential.
