ROLE SUMMARY

The Digital Manufacturing (DM) Team’s mission is to simplify processes and experiences to drive Pfizer Global Supply (PGS) outcomes. DM is responsible for the digital transformation of all processes across shop floor, quality control, quality assurance, engineering, environment, health, and safety operations. Our programs are led by user experience and design thinking to understand the journeys that our PGS customers are working through daily. DM leads a focus on innovative technology implementation across PGS sites including a digital lean production system, sensors, Industrial Internet of Things, wearables, Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality solutions. DM drives efficiencies in end-to-end operations by embedding predictive and prescriptive insights from artificial intelligence into our manufacturing, quality and cross-functional applications. The colleague will lead and manage a team accountable for leading application lifecycle management including development, testing, release, change management, deployment and support activities within a DevOps team that develops software using microservices architecture, cloud infrastructure, open source technology, containerization & orchestration and CI/CD pipeline for software delivery automation.

The role requires ability to execute and coordinate efforts around continuous improvement, innovation, and optimization in collaboration with Manufacturing and Engineering Digital Production System (DPS) teams including designing and deploying metrics to capture baseline and demonstrate ongoing improvements achieved.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

The Senior Manager, Developer, Service Optimization colleague’s responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Manage and lead a team of software and testing engineers across multiple product lines delivering apps and solutions using modern cloud architecture and DevOps techniques.
  • Be responsible for executing the technical and architecture strategies and roadmaps across Digital Production System.
  • Be accountable for implementing architectures, strategies, design, and delivery using Scrum agile development methodology.
  • Ensure quality software is delivered on time within a fast-paced agile environment.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvements across the development environment.
  • Monitor sprint progress, eliminate barriers, and ensure effectively deliver the solutions to add values to our business customers.
  • Understand business customers’ expectations and preferences including alignment with Digital landscape
  • Support day-to-day operational needs and lead issue investigation and resolution.
  • Act as a thought leader on emerging digital technologies
  • Develop and implement process improvements, enforcement of adherence to standards across the organization and compliance with industry regulations.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders across Pfizer Global Supply, Digital and Strategic Partners
  • Provide guidance to direct reports by ensuring clarity around priorities and goals
  • Complete talent identification and development processes for direct reports

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in developing and deploying enterprise solution.
  • 3+ years working with agile software delivery model.
  • Working experience in delivering and managing large scale automated testing frameworks for software development.
  • Working experience in engineering and technical delivery of the cloud-based solutions created in modern programming languages/frameworks; Angular, .NET
  • Working experience with database systems: PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Redshift, MongoDB.
  • Expertise in utilizing DevOps tools such as DevOps Azure/Git, Ansible, Jenkins, Docker, SonarQube.
  • Working experience AWS technologies such as EC2, EBS, S3, RDS.
  • Has owned systems and managed development of end-to-end applications.
  • Has experience with production deployments of complex systems.
  • Experience with an industry accepted, structured software development life cycle methodology.
  • Experience supporting the development of complex software products including the deployment of multiple versions / releases of a large product.
  • Ability to contribute to technical specifications, technical design documentation, process documentation and technical SOPs for the software development team.
  • Experience working in teams to address software defect analysis, troubleshooting, and resolution.
  • Excellent communication skills.

  • Pharmaceutical Experience
  • Experience delivering solutions with the following attributes:
    • Containers, docker
    • Kafka, Presto
    • Kong, Istio
  • Team leadership, people management, and/or coaching/mentoring
