What You Will Achieve

The Cell Biology and Translational Research Group at the Pfizer-Boulder RU develops and performs cell-based assays to support oncology drug development. The group is seeking to add a key team member with a strong track record and background in cancer biology and basic mechanisms of targeted cancer therapeutics. The successful candidate will have an in-depth working knowledge of cancer genomics and cancer-associated signaling pathways. Broad technical skills in cellular and molecular biology are required. The new team member will work on a diverse array of projects to expand and enhance the product portfolio. Projects will include new therapeutic target discovery and validation, development of cell-based assays to interrogate mechanisms of drug action and elucidation of novel drug resistance mechanisms.

The new team member will be part of a dynamic and multi-disciplinary group. Extensive opportunities are available for cross-functional collaborations with other groups, including in vivo pharmacology, proteomics, bioinformatics and structural biology.

Qualifications

  • PhD in molecular biology, biochemistry, pharmacology or related science plus minimum 3 years of postdoctoral wet-lab research experience either in industry or academia
  • Proven track record in cancer biology, oncology and pharmacology
  • Knowledge and successful technical application of molecular biology, cell biology, pharmacology, genomics, and proteomics laboratory methods to advance oncology drug discovery, drug characterization and biomarker discovery
  • Expertise in the following molecular and cell biology methods: CRISPR/cas9-based gene editing, molecular cloning, RNAseq and whole exome seq, proteomics
  • High-level oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Nice-to-Have

  • Proficiency in computational data analysis methods

  • Lifting, sitting, standing, walking, bending, ability to perform mathematical calculations and ability to perform complex data analysis

NON-STANDARD WORK SCHEDULE, TRAVEL OR ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS

  • Able to adhere to safe work practices and perform lab work with appropriate personal protection equipment such as but not limited to safety goggles, facial mask, gloves, lab coat/ protective gowning, and closed toe shoes 
  • Able to work at flexible hours occasionally when performing time-sensitive experiments
