Summary
The USDA/ARS Children’s Nutrition Research Center (CNRC) provides an environment at Baylor College of Medicine that integrates data from diverse domains including electronic medical record, geospatial and social information, and next generation technologies to support research development and implementation of new approaches to patient care. The CNRC is currently seeking a Research Coordinator II to assist with research studies.
Our major goals at the CNRC are:
• Catalyze interdisciplinary, collaborative clinical research.
• Create a robust, readily accessible infrastructure to support interdisciplinary, collaborative clinical research.
• Attract, educate, and train individuals in clinical and collaborative research.
• Improve human health and healthcare practice especially with respect to nutrition for children and adolescents.
Job Duties
- Interviews, screens, and recruits participants for study and explains process and procedures to educate participant and families regarding research.
- Collects subject information and processes documents and enters information into a database.
- Maintains records, regulatory documents, and study records for research studies.
- Schedules research participants for tests and procedures such as laboratory tests, x-rays, and other studies specific for the research project.
- Retrieves and submits test results to appropriate party.
- Corresponds with subjects throughout the study and with subject families in scheduling appointments.
- Orders supplies and equipment.
- Develops the manual of operations for research studies and its implementation at each study site.
- Engages in direct contact with study participants and family members.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related field. Four years of related experience may substitute for degree requirement.
- One year of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior clinical research experience.
