What You Will Achieve
As an Associate Scientist, you will be at the center of our operations and you’ll find that everything we do, every day, is in line with an unwavering commitment to quality. You will have the important role to generate high-quality immunoassay data in a regulated Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) setting to support Pfizer’s vaccine programs according to Standard Operating Procedures. You will support the technology transfer and integration of new laboratory immunoassays into the cGLP space, support assay validation projects and monitor immunoassay lifecycle. In addition, you will also support throughput activities and provide testing support for clinical and non-clinical research programs.

Your strong foundation in general scientific practice, its principles and concepts will help in meeting critical deadlines. You will be relied on as a technical contributor to assess the assigned tasks and make decisions that involve direct application of your knowledge.

How You Will Achieve It
Exercise and build basic team effectiveness skills {e.g., commitment, feedback, consensus management} within the immediate work group.

Satisfactorily complete all cGMP/GLP and safety training in conformance with Departmental requirements. Where applicable, performs job responsibilities in compliance with cGMP/GLP and all other regulatory agency requirements

Perform the biofunctional immunological assays to support vaccine clinical development in a high-throughput setting.

Conduct clinical assays in accordance with Good Clinical Laboratory Practice (GCLP) requirements.

Maintain a detailed inventory of freezer reagents such as controls, proficiency panels, toxins, reference standards etc.

Data review of clinical and non-clinical data.

Execute sample testing and analysis for toxicology and clinical trials.

Stay current on all departmental and corporate training.

Ensure laboratory equipment is meeting company’s compliance guidelines including preventative maintenance and monthly calibrations.

Assist in maintaining the laboratory, including ordering/ restocking supplies, updating reagent inventory, and ensuring cleanliness

Qualifications
Must-Have
Bachelor's Degree in Biology, Immunology, Virology or similar field of study and 0-2 years of experience

Laboratory experience in a relevant field of science

Strong attention to detail and ability to collaborate and work in team environment

Good verbal and written communication skills

Good Computer skills including word processing, Excel, PowerPoint and relevant scientific software

Nice-to-Have
Knowledge of mammalian cells and aseptic techniques

Laboratory experience in biology, immunology, virology, and/or microbiology

Experience handling infectious agents and biological materials safely, including toxins and viruses

Robotic and automation experience

PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS

Work is primarily performed at the laboratory bench and at an office desk using a computer. The job involves lifting relatively light loads, not more than 10 pounds. This position may require the ability to stand and reach inside the hardware environment of various laboratory robotic equipment.
