Job Description
Job SummaryWork involves providing customer support for university information technology systems and operating automated office equipment in network environment. Work under close supervision, with some latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.

Major Responsibilities/Duties/Critical Tasks
Perform intermediate level troubleshooting, maintenance, testing, and resolution of moderately difficult computer related problems.
Provide customer service and answer user inquiries regarding computer software, hardware operation, and the use of software applications.
Perform the set-up of equipment for employee use and proper installation of cables, operating systems, or appropriate software.
Document all work in ServiceNow, communicate with customers through support tickets in ServiceNow, and create KB articles.
Ensure that appropriate security controls over software are maintained.
Assist in the update of computers and application programs.
Other related duties as required
Minimum Required Education/Experience
Associates Degree or equivalent experience.
Bachelor’s degree in a computer related field preferred.
Two (2) years of experience in computer systems support work.
Four (4) years’ experience of in computer systems support work environment with 250+ users preferred.
Must have valid driver’s license and be able to operate department utility cart.
Will be required to get ITIL v4 Foundations certified within one (1) year of employment.
ITIL, CompTIA A+, or other IT related certifications preferred.
Accompanying Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Competencies
Intermediate knowledge of principles of computer operations; of information systems; of computer software and hardware; and of information security policies.
Skill in the use and support of computers, in the use of applicable programs and systems, and in troubleshooting information systems.
Ability to operate information technology systems, and to communicate effectively.

The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS), subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length.
