Job Description

Argonne National Laboratory invites applications for engineer positions in computational science and software development for applying high performance computing techniques and artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning/deep learning (ML/DL) methods to challenges in biomedicine.

Selected candidates will work with Argonne scientists on developing methods to analyze sequencing data, develop AI for science on leading-edge AI hardware and software. Candidates will be expected to use the advanced supercomputing facilities at the Argonne Leadership Computing Facility (ALCF), including the upcoming Aurora exascale system, other GPU-based systems.

Position Requirements

Experience in programming with one or more programming languages, such as C, C++, or Python (preferable)
Experience with machine learning methods and deep learning frameworks, such as TensorFlow or PyTorch
Experience in using and developing high performance computing frameworks and libraries
Experience with GPU programming in the machine learning context is valuable
Knowledge of modern software development practices and techniques
Strong collaboration skills and ability to work in a team environment
Ability to model Argonne’s Core Values: Impact, Safety, Respect, Integrity, and Teamwork
RD2: Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of experience, or equivalent
