Summary

The Research Assistant II will design and execute research experiments that are critical for the goals and the mission of the laboratory, document, analyze and interpret results, and report weekly to the PI. 

 

The successful candidate will have the appropriate training and competencies to succeed in these complex and challenging procedures. The Research Assistant II will identify problems and critically propose solutions. In addition to routinely conducting literature review and becoming more acquainted with the latest advancements in the field, the Research Assistant II will train and guide new and existing junior lab members. 

 

The successful applicant for this position will be a motivated, organized, and team-oriented individual. 

Job Duties

  • Lead and supervise a project focused on the glutamine dependency of neuroblastoma.
  • Perform mouse surgery to generate various models of neuroblastoma orthotopic xenografts (including patient-derived xenografts), which are key for the success of the lab. 
  • Oversee the maintenance of lab orders, equipment, inventories, and environment. 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a Basic Science or a related field. 
  • Three years of relevant experience.
