Job Description

The primary resource for operating units regarding the collection of data, analysis and evaluation of operational resources, services, programs, systems, budgets and procedures.

Responsibilities:

  • Conducts in-depth statistical analysis and evaluation of current and proposed operational unit services and performance.
  • Identifies programs/service strengths, weaknesses and financial impact.
  • Serves as technical resource in the analysis and evaluation of the operational and financial functions of administrative and operational units as related to departmental resources, services, systems, budgets and programs. Interprets and presents data analysis results including explanation of statistical and financial techniques used, assumptions made and summary of results.
  • Assists with the development of operational plans, procedures and systems; reviews and evaluates current procedures and systems and develops recommendations for improvement and/or change.
  • Collaborate with clinical staff to develop workflows and identification areas of opportunity and recommend ways to improve efficiencies
  • Control raw data from a variety of systems/sources for reporting used by management and staff across the health system.
  • Generate dashboards to monitor progress of various initiatives.
  • Utilizes machine learning techniques, high-performance data architectures and technologies to address business problems and analyze large, unstructured data sets.
  • Functions as a primary resource for department chair, administrators and administration regarding the development of business intelligence tools. Identifies data sourcing and apply business rules in the deployment of dashboards and other BI tools.
  • Facilitates creation of new operational and quality indicators by identifying process improvement opportunities and utilizing disparate data sources to provide timely, accurate and meaningful decision support tools
  • Serves as a technical resource in the analysis and evaluation of clinical, operational and financial functions of clinical centers as related to utilization management and operational performance through dashboards and other reporting structures.
  • Maintains the quality and data integrity of the reports, making improvements and adjustments as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics or related field.

Certifications:

  • None required.

Complexity of Work:

  • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment.

Work Experience:

  • Minimum two years of experience with demonstrated knowledge of applied statistics and financial analysis with a quantitative focus.
  • Offset:  Associate’s degree and four years of experience.

Physical Requirements:

  • Requires dexterity sufficient to perform work using a P.C.
  • Requires normal or corrected visual acuity; must sit for extended periods of time.

Personal Protective Equipment:

  • Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
