Job Description
The Athletic Trainer School is responsible for providing athletic training services to an assigned school system for which a full-time contract has been made with CCMH to provide this service.
Responsibilities:
- Maintains daily hours for evaluation/rehabilitation of athletic injuries.
- Prioritizes athletic training coverage of games and practices.
- Communicates with parents and coaching staff of various sports.
- Maintains the needed athletic training supplies and equipment.
- Communicates with team physician, coaches and parents.
- Follows the school operational athletic training budget.
- Advises coaches on in-season and out-of-season conditioning programs.
- Develops educational programs for coaches, students, and parents at assigned school.
- Maintains records of injuries and rehabilitations.
- Demonstrates behaviors that anticipate and meet the needs of athletes, school personnel, and the public, both internally and externally.
- Follows system and department policies and procedures with special attention to attendance and punctuality, confidentiality, dress code and display of ID badge, and safety.
- Completes mandatory education and training in order to maintain organization and department specific competencies and requirements.
- Other duties as assigned
Education:
- Bachelor's Degree.
Languages:
Certifications:
- National certification (NATA) and licensed to practice Athletic Training in the state of Florida.
- American Heart Association BLS certification required

- Current demonstrated clinical competence.
- Ability to work independently without direct supervision.
- Understanding of human anatomy sufficient to perform duties of the job.
- Basic knowledge of math.
- Good verbal, written and interpersonal skills.
Work Experience:
- One year experience as an athletic trainer/ cast technician or in a related position in a Clinic or Hospital patient care setting.
Physical Requirements:
- Requires full range of motion, manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination.
- Requires standing or sitting for extensive periods of time.
- Able to lift and transfer patients.
- Requires some exposure to body fluids.
Personal Protective Equipment:
- Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required for procedures.
