Job Description

Summary

The Research Coordinator II will manage the day to day activities of a clinical research study.  Primary responsibilities will be assisting with patient enrollment, data entry and reporting to study sponsor. Candidate should have good understanding of clinical research job role.  Position requires prior clinical research experience and able to work will little or minimal oversight and direction.  Experience with Nephrology/Renal studies is a plus.  The Research Coordinator II will assist with investigator initiated studies.  RCII will assist with patient enrollment, data entry and reporting to study sponsor. Position will utilize the Research Resource Office's Clinical Train Managment System (CTMS), Regulatory Affairs, Billing and Invoicing services that the RRO can offer.  

 

The ideal candidate must have experience with clinical research grants and protocols.  Must be able to work with minimal oversight and direction, coordinating the administrative activities of Nephrology/Renal focused research studies. 

 

Job Duties

  • Recruits, screens, and enrolls study patients.
  • Explains the research study protocol and processes to patients and families.
  • Schedules patient appointments, testing and procedures as outlined by the PI.
  • Oversees data entry and management of study records. 
  • Assist with any specimen collection as outlined in the study protocol.
  • Communicates with study sponsors, provide reports, attend sponsor monitor meeting and related activities. 
  • Adheres to Baylor College of Medicine, Texas Children's Hospital and Clinicial Research SOP.
  • Adheres to FDA Good Clinical Practices outlining the standard for safety, design, conduct, performance, monitoring, auditing, analysis and reporting for clinical trails and studies.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field. Four years of related experience may substitute for degree requirement.
  • One year of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in scientific or healthcare related field. 
  • Prior experience with research grants or clinical trials.  
  • Certification as a clinical research coordinator (CCRC).
