Job DescriptionThe College of New Jersey (TCNJ) in Ewing, NJ is a highly selective, public institution that has earned national recognition for its commitment to excellence. The School of Science at TCNJ is hiring talented, part-time adjunct faculty to teach General Chemistry lecture and laboratory.
The General Chemistry curriculum was developed using TCNJ inclusive excellence research. Our General Chemistry course/lab is highly coordinated and was designed to remove systemic barriers to increase the success rates of marginalized students and develop stronger self efficacy for all TCNJ chemistry students while maintaining content that is traditionally taught in most General Chemistry courses. Adjuncts are supported by full time faculty members and will have a learning assistant that serves as a peer mentor and helps to manage the active learning classroom.
Candidates should hold a PhD in Chemistry or a related field, candidates with a masters degree and/or specialized chemistry teaching experience will be considered and are encouraged to apply. Willingness to be trained in our teaching style is required. Previous teaching experience is a plus.
