Job DescriptionMultiple postdoctoral research positions are available to study cardiovascular and cognitive mechanisms in health and disease, in the Department of Internal Medicine – Cardiovascular Medicine at the University of Iowa, Iowa City, Iowa.
Research in the lab utilizes a combination of neurophysiological and molecular approaches in genetically engineered mouse models. The positions offer highly competitive NIH Postdoctoral level salary, benefits, and an outstanding research environment to develop creative ideas for independent research projects. The candidate must hold a PhD in Physiology, Neuroscience or related disciplines. Qualified candidates are expected to have - (1) Prior experience in performing mouse surgeries and techniques; (2) Strong oral and written communication skills, and excellent references from graduate research; (3) Ability to work independently and in a collaborative environment; and (4) Willingness to apply for fellowship grants.
