The Chemistry Lab Coordinator will prepare chemical reagents and laboratory materials for each lab and all lab practical exams for all courses, including Principles of Chemistry, General Chemistry and Organic Chemistry. Communicate regularly with instructors, Chair and Dean of Science. Maintain adequate stock supplies, submit orders, and keep computer database of purchases. Maintain equipment in operational condition. Maintain chemical and equipment inventory. Keep lab areas clean and organized. Supervise federal work study and part-time lab aides. Manage inventory and sale of used lab coats and goggles. Manage and prepare chemistry lab waste for storage and disposal.

Excellent interpersonal skills, oral and written communication
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy
Computer literacy; work with spreadsheet software preferred
Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds
Mechanical aptitude for equipment setup, calibration and maintenance, preferred
Associates degree or equivalent with minimum of 15 hours of Chemistry
Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry or biological science
General lab experience working in a chemistry lab
