Job Description

An NIH funded postdoctoral position is immediately available in the Vascular Biology research laboratory of Dr. Eileen M. Redmond at the University of Rochester Medical Center. This laboratory in the Department of Surgery Research Division investigates the cardiovascular system as a biological target for alcohol using a combination of in vitro and in vivo models. Current projects, in the context of atherosclerosis, are focused on Notch and Hedgehog signaling, vascular stem cells, and hemodynamic force-induced responses.
We are seeking a highly motivated individual with excellent interpersonal skills, a proactive attitude, ability to work independently and in a team, and fluency in oral and written English.
Candidate should have recently earned a PhD or MD/PhD degree(s) in physiology, pharmacology, cell biology or related discipline. Strong molecular biological skills are required, with experience in cell culture (various vascular, and progenitor stem cells), immunocytochemistry/confocal microscopy, biochemical analyses, cell signaling, and/or transgenic rodent studies desirable.
