To expand the research team of Prof. Csaba Szabo at the section of Medicine of the University of Fribourg (Switzerland), we offer a

Post-doctoral position in colorectal cancer research in the section of Medicine, Chair of Pharmacology, University of Fribourg, Switzerland

As a post-doctoral fellow at Fribourg University, you will be joining a dynamic group of investigators who work in a newly completed, well-equipped and modern research facility to build a strong scientific career.

The position is supported by the Swiss Krebsliga and focuses on the pathophysiological role of the gaseous mediator hydrogen sulfide in the pathogenesis of colorectal cancer. The successful applicant will have numerous opportunities to grow and expand his/her conceptual and technical horizons, to contribute to the expansion of the research into new directions, and to collaborate with scientists and specialized institutes locally and worldwide.

Responsibilities
- To conduct laboratory research in the field of colorectal cancer research, by integrating the approaches and tools of molecular medicine, pathophysiology, pharmacology, biochemistry, cell biology and molecular biology
- To establish and develop new methods and techniques
- To design and perform experiments and critically analyze and evaluate data
- To perform administrative tasks, as assigned
- To participate in student training
- To write reports, papers and grant applications
- To give presentation of the findings at national/international congresses

Qualification
- Highly motivated researcher with a PhD in cancer research
- Strong background and excellent track record and publication record in a relevant area (experimental studies in the area of cancer microenvironment through the combination of in vivo and in vitro models)
- Ability to work with multiple experimental methods and tools from various disciplines (pathophysiology, pharmacology, biochemistry, cell biology and molecular biology)
- Candidate must be able to work both independently and interactively with a team setting
- We are looking for dynamic, highly motivated, meticulous, pro-active candidates with excellent conceptual and methodological background and superb problem-solving and analytical skills
