Postdoctoral position on extracellular vesicle-mediated neuronal signaling and Alzheimer’s disease

University of Colorado at Boulder

Boulder, CO

Job posting number: #7054792

Application Deadline: Open Until Filled

Job Description

It has become clear that extracellular vesicles (EVs) such as exosomes help spread Aβ and mutant tau among neurons and glial cells, promoting the pathogenesis of Alzheimer’s disease. The function and mechanism of this process, however, remain unknown. The postdoctoral fellow will join a highly collaborative and supportive group to investigate the functional roles of candidate genes in cargo transport among neurons and glial cells, a project funded by NIH/NIA. Our primary experimental approach will be CRISPR genetic screens, high-resolution imaging, and mouse genetics. The postdoctoral fellow will receive a competitive salary and a comprehensive package of benefits including medical insurance, dental insurance, and retirement funds. The university sponsors H1 and J1 visas for international scholars. University of Colorado Boulder is one of the top comprehensive research universities in the United States (with four Nobel Laureates on faculty), and ranks top 12 in federal funding. Located at the footsteps of the spectacular Rocky Mountains, Boulder is regarded as one of the best places to live in U.S.A., offering outstanding outdoor activities such as skiing, biking, and mountain hiking.
