Job DescriptionNetwork Operations Engineers (NOEs) are responsible for the day-to-day delivery of communications infrastructure spanning data, video, and voice. NOE II’s provides time-proven technical and collaborative skills in the delivery and maintenance of communications infrastructure and services. Additionally, NOE II’s propose the development and creation of new processes and procedures associated with configuration changes, operational sustainment, and monitoring.
Manage network infrastructure at BU campuses and satellite locations.
Complete Service request and respond to incidents within the defined SLA’s.
Help ensure the highest level of network performance, including reliability, scalability, affordability, and security.
Ensure documentation is complete, updated, and archived as necessary.
Work closely with Service Desk and other internal departments.
Key Qualifications :
Advanced knowledge of (3-5 years of experience with)
Routing & switching technology
BGP, OSPF, TACACS, RADIUS, DNS, DHCP, IPv6, Load balancers, Firewalls
Cisco Wired, Wireless, Datacenter Technologies, VoIP, CLI
F5, Palo Alto, VMware, Linux, MSOS
Zenoss, Rancid, Cacti, MRTG, ServiceNow
CCNA or equivalent experience
Participate in 7x24 on-call support rotation
Strong technical, analytical, organizational, & collaborative skills; ability to work under pressure and manage concurrent challenges effectively
BA/BS in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience
Additional requirement for working at the BUMC Campus:
The Medical campus maintains highly restrictive research facilities including the National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories (NEIDL). Individuals seeking this position may be subject to the following suitability requirements. Failure to meet any of these requirements may result in ineligibility for employment or affiliation:

Basic Background Check: includes, but is not limited to, verification of:

o Credit history check;
o RMV/DMV driving record, if required.
Medical Clearance Process: includes Research Occupational Health Program (ROHP) evaluation, drug screening, initial psychological screening, and immunization/titer level review completed in accordance with NEIDL Medical Surveillance Policy for all employees working at the NEIDL.
Training and Education: to be completed in accordance with Section 8, Ongoing Personnel Reliability Program, for all employees working at the NEIDL.
Please note, any individual working in the NEIDL facility and granted unescorted access, is subject to search of person, clothing and effects prior to entry into or egress from NEIDL.
When applicable, individuals will be required to maintain all applicable clearances and licenses and to disclose any changes in circumstances that could compromise access to the facility.
