Summary

We are seeking a talented individual for a full-time position to join our team at IQuESt - the Center for Innovations in Quality, Effectiveness and Safety. We are the largest center for Health Services Research within the Southwest. We conduct high-quality scientific research that improves the health of patients across the nation, by helping to ensure the patient-centered delivery of scientific discoveries. This Research Coordinator III position will support multiple implementation projects.

You will join a team seeking to improve quality of care for patients at the Houston Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center and Baylor College of Medicine. We are seeking someone who will oversee the administrative and regulatory activities with Learning Health Systems and marketing/website functions with the VA Quality Scholars fellowship program. Job duties involve providing administrative support for the VAQS director and the Learning Health Systems Manager or other faculty, including maintaining calendars, scheduling meetings, ordering supplies, and preparing correspondence and providing support for special projects.

The reliable candidate will manage both PI’s calendar (i.e., scheduling, providing availability) and manage all VAQS marketing processes which include the website, newsletter, and brochure updates.  Candidate will thoroughly understand the curricular goals, policies, and standards of the LHS program and VAQS program.

Job Duties

  • Assists with the daily operation of multiple research and implementation projects.
  • Assists with management plans including that all timeline and milestones are met.
  • Provides support to other team members as needed.
  • Responds to inquiries and requests from program leaders and external agencies.
  • May train and supervise less experienced research coordinators.
  • Creates educational materials.
  • Serves as a resource in resolving scheduling challenges.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field. Four years of related experience may substitute for degree requirement.
  • Two years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in a related field.
  • Computer skills (MS Office - Word, Excel, Access) required.
  • Individual should be enthusiastic, organized, detail-oriented, professional, proactive, willing to be flexible and have excellent communication skills.
  • Being an independent problem-solver and a team-player is a must.
