Summary
Baylor College of Medicine/Texas Children's Hospital is seeking a board certified/eligible adolescent medicine physician to join our division as a clinician-educator-research faculty member as part of a large, interdisciplinary team. Educating the next generation of Adolescent Medicine leaders is a priority of the Division, which holds an HRSA MCHB-funded Leadership Education in Adolescent Health (LEAH) training grant. The LEAH Program is designed to reduce health disparities and improve the health and well-being of adolescents and young adults by training future leaders focused on young people 10-25 years of age, including leaders in the 5 core disciplines of medicine, nursing, nutrition, psychology, and social work.
Professional responsibilities:
- Provide outpatient and inpatient care and consultative care of adolescent medicine patients at Texas Children's Hospital which is consistently recognized as a leader in pediatric care by U.S. News & World Report, placing second nationally in its new 2022-2023 Best Children's Hospitals rankings
- Teaching fellows, residents, and students in clinical and didactic settings
- Option to develop quality improvement and research projects depending on experience and interest
- Ability to participate in numerous professional development activities regarding medical education; leadership; quality and safety; and diversity, equity, and inclusion
Requirements
Faculty would qualify for a faculty position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor. The ideal candidates have demonstrated excellence in clinical care, research, leadership and/or education and are:
- M.D. or D.O.
- Board Certified/Board Eligible in General Pediatrics or Internal Medicine
- Board Certified/Board Eligible in Adolescent Medicine
