The incumbent will lead existing multi-faceted Department of Defense projects as well as cultivate new research opportunities for CAB.

The CAB is one of the largest university-based biomechanics laboratories in the world. It was founded in 1989 and has grown steadily since, with a current staff of 9 Principal Investigators from SEAS and the School of Medicine and approximately 50 researchers and support staff in a dedicated, state-of-the-art 35,000 ft2 facility with world-class computational, experimental, mechanical, and biological resources. SEAS at UVA enjoys a strong, dynamic research program within one of the best comprehensive universities in the world. Preference will be given to candidates that have a demonstrated record of collaborative relationships across engineering departments, with other universities, and with medical school researchers.
